Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 23, 2026
1. Introduction
Ingrevia, LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the mobile application Ingrevia (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed within the App and on your device.
The App is designed to process core feature data locally on your device. We do not collect account data or personal identifiers, and we do not receive your scanned images or recognized ingredient text.
2. Data Processed on Device
The following data may be processed locally on your device:
- User-entered data: Ingredient trigger lists you manually enter.
- Scanned text: Text recognized from ingredient labels via on-device optical character recognition (OCR).
- App settings and preferences: Stored locally in the device database.
User-entered ingredient data, recognized ingredient text, and app preferences remain on your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share them.
3. Data We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect, transmit, or store:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Advertising identifiers
- Your scanned images or recognized ingredient text
- Crash or diagnostic reports linked to personal data
4. Device Permissions
The App may request access to the following hardware features:
- Camera (optional in-app): Used for scanning ingredient labels and QR codes. No images or video are transmitted off-device.
- Photos/Media library (optional): Used to select saved images for ingredient scanning.
Android may require camera hardware to install the app on a device, but camera permission in the app remains optional.
You can revoke permissions at any time in your device’s settings.
5. Third-Party Libraries and SDKs
The App uses third-party libraries and software development kits (“SDKs”) solely for on-device functionality. These include:
- Google ML Kit Text Recognition (
google_mlkit_text_recognition) - Image Picker (
image_picker) - Mobile Scanner (
mobile_scanner) - Device Info Plus (
device_info_plus) - Share Plus (
share_plus) - File Picker (
file_picker)
These SDKs support on-device app features. As described below, Google ML Kit may collect limited technical diagnostic data for reliability and functionality.
6. Google ML Kit Diagnostic Data
Ingrevia uses Google ML Kit Text Recognition for on-device OCR. Google ML Kit may collect limited technical diagnostic information to help maintain reliability and functionality.
This diagnostic information may include technical details such as device model, operating system version, app version, SDK performance metrics, event types, and error codes.
This diagnostic data does not include scanned images, recognized text content, or personal identifiers such as name, email, or phone number.
This diagnostic data is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
7. Platform & SDK Privacy Disclosures
Some functionality used by the App is provided by services maintained by Apple and Google. Those services are governed by their platform privacy policies:
- Apple iOS Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Apple App Store Privacy & Data Use: https://developer.apple.com/app-store/app-privacy-details/
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google ML Kit Terms (on-device use): https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms
According to Google’s ML Kit documentation, on-device text recognition does not transmit scanned images or text to Google servers.
8. Sharing and Exporting Data
You may choose to export your data (for backup purposes) or share your ingredient trigger lists with others via generated QR codes. These actions are initiated by you and are not transmitted to us.
9. External Web Search Action
The App includes a user-initiated Search action that opens your device browser to run an ingredient safety web query (for example: ingredient + "food ingredient safety").
This feature sends the search query to your selected browser/search provider. We do not receive this query data. Any processing is governed by the privacy terms of the browser and search provider you use.
10. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under 13. Because it does not collect personal data, we have no means of identifying user age.
11. Data Retention
All data generated within the App remains on your device until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App from your device.
12. Security and Data Integrity
We implement reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data. However, because all processing takes place on your device, you are responsible for data security, including backups and device-level security.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy in the future. Any changes will be reflected here with a revised “Last updated” date.
